For the eigths time the Shindo Dragons took part in the Hannover Dragonboatraces 2011 … and WON!

Same procedure as every year… On the whit weekend the Hannover Maschsee is full of Dragonboats who are fighting for the titles in different categories. The teams consist of 20 paddlers, a drummer and a steerer and distances range from 250m over 500 and 2000 up to 4000m. This year at the Hannover Dragonboatraces about 140 teams adding up to about 3500 paddlers where part of the event. The Shindo Dragons participatetd in the FUN categorie, fighting against 48 teams over a distance of 250m.

After a triumphant victory in the first heat, the Shindo Dragons could also achieve a victory in the quarterfinal. After this, hopes in the team run high.

In the semifinal the team came second and therefor qualified for the great final.

 

Driven by their coaches Laudus and Martin the Shindo Dragons where highly focused and determined to win. With a huge effort on the last 50 meters the Dragons could achieve a splendid victory! With a time of 1:11:52 our team outdistanced everyone else and for the first time secured the top podium position.
